Scriptural Prayers for Reading the Scripture

Here are some great prayers to pray in coming to the Word of God. I was thinking of a few of them this morning (the list is by no means comprehensive - really, just the tip of the iceberg) :
  • open my eyes that I may behold wondrous things out of your law. (Psalm 119:18)
  • enlarge my heart. (Psalm 119:32)
  • revive my soul. (Psalm 19:7)
  • grant wisdom. (Psalm 19:7)
  • rejoice my heart. (Psalm 19:8)
  • enlighten my eyes. (Psalm 19:8)
  • warn me. (Psalm 19:11)
  • teach me. (2 Timothy 3:16)
  • reprove me. (2 Timothy 3:16)
  • correct me. (2 Timothy 3:16)
  • train me in righteousness. (2 Timothy 3:16)
  • equip me for good works. (2 Timothy 3:17)

Love this list! I wonder how much more effective our reading would be if we prayed this before approaching the Word every time. Thanks for sharing I'm gonna put it to the test! :)
